3 gun matches?

Mods, please forgive me, but a search for '3 gun' is an exercise in futility...

Could someone please give me a rundown on what a 3 gun match is like?

Or a link to some good info?

Ever shoot IPSC? Very similar but the ones I've held usually have 2 pistol stages, two shotgun stages (shot and slugs ot to 35-50m) and two rifle stages 10-100m.

That video is actually from a 'multi gun' match. (all guns used in a single stage) In a 3 gun match the stages are either pistol stages, or rifle stages, or shotgun stages.

OSA is hosting a 3 gun match at MilCun this weekend. Service pistol, tactical carbine, precision rifle.

How does one get into 3 gun matches? Im assuming you have to get certified?

IPSC has a certification process for its handgun matches. Generally it would depend on the sponsoring organization, the course of fire, etc. Any shooting involving restricted firearms, prohibited pistols would require an ATT. Eligibility to use club facilities is also a factor.
