So I’m thinking of gearing up for 3-gun. Unfortunately, my fingers are short and fat. A shadow/shadow 2 just has too long a reach for me to get to the trigger without having a modified, uncomfortable grip. A glock 19/34 is barely on the edge of being useable.

Ideally I would like a glock 43, but...

What’s everyone’s suggestions?

Also can I run a rds and comp in 3-gun on the pistol?

How about a 9mm 1911 with a short trigger?
Not sure about the comp but unless you’re running your rifle with no optics, 2/3 guns with a RDS will put you in Open. Where the big boys play. I tried that in my first 3G and didn’t fare so well! LOL!

Running a comp or red dot will put you in open. Most shooters just run irons on the pistol. I would recommend an m&p with apex trigger as it makes the reach shorter.

HK SFP-9 comes with small/med/large hand grips that are interchangeable. I have heard the Walther PPQ also has a small hand friendly grip. Both also have excellent triggers.

Walther PPQ M2 and PPQ Match also come with 3 grip sizes.

I’m a big Shadow 2 fanboy for IPSC, but I like my PPQ M2 for 3 Gun because it’s a fair bit lighter, as i’m already carrying a lot of weight on my belt, and like the simplicity of a stricker fire pistol for 3 Gun. Really nice gun and amazing trigger!

This is a common problem.

In the USA, many custom shops* offer Glock 'grip reduction', and many happy customers have reported improved fitment following these modifications.

Maybe, just maybe, Black Box, in Calgary, might be willing to tackle such (Glock 'grip reduction') work.
