3 Options and must decide by the weekend...opinions welcome.

I have seen and handled the Savage - no problems there whatsoever. It is in great condition. The seller just put the scope back on (he has an upgraded one on there and put it on another rifle, so it'll need to be re-sighted).

Another thing I should mention in this is that it is primarily a deer gun. I won't be making a trip for elk anytime soon, and moose are not a common hunt I go on - once in a while. Again - I don't think one cartridge has a real world advantage for me over the other.

My first CF rifle was a Remington model 700 BDL in .30-06, bought in 1965.
It has been rebarreled and given to my son.
The 700 is an ADL with a blind magazine.
Can't go wrong with that choice. All my CF rifles are 700's

Well, I wrote the seller of the 700 and offered him the same $400 that I can get the other two for. He has already dropped from $590 to $490 - the $450 was a number I figured fair to offer, but the negotiations haven't started yet. If he takes $400 I'm gonna go with the 700 unless there's really something problematic about it in hand. Otherwise, I'll revisit options 1 and 2.

Option 1 it is - looked at the paperwork on the rifle (seller showed me his sight-in with the higher grade scope). It's a shooter, it's close, it's reliable and in great shape, and worst-case scenario, I can easily unload it for the $400 I'm paying after the season is over if I want to go with something else. If I get as nice results with it, I may just keep it and upgrade it over the winter.

Thanks guys ;-)

That's something that some buyers forget... you can always sell it on the EE, and if you leave a little on the table, consider it the usage fee.
