3 Point Sling + Non 'Black Rifles' ?

Hey fellow gun nutz, quick question:
After a bit of Google fu and checking out videos on you tube I cannot seem to find one single instructable on attaching a 3 point sling to a non AR platform rifle. I do notice that some images show what looks to be a loop around the handguard though this doesn't really help me on non AR platform rifles again, or does it? Will a 3 point sling fit on any rifles that have sling mounts? I learned how to put the back end on a full stock rifle, how would it attach to the front? I just want to know before I buy, thanks in advance.

It depends on the sling and your usage. I found this on google when I searched 3 point sling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVGbYG2_u4I not a hard find.

The mounting will depend on the corresponding firearm you wish to mate it with. Is it a quick detach mount? sling swivel? Ambi-dex sling mount? Are there no mounts forward? Also keep in mind different companies have different products.

I was kind of hoping there would be some kind of standard, I wanted to add a 3 point to a savage 320 and an SKS in a tapco stock and both have swivel mounts.

I don't need quick release, I don't need ambidextrous mounting,
