3" shells in HP9

I normally shoot 2 3/4 shells in my HP9 and it holds four rounds in the mag tube, no problem. Tonight I tried to fit four 3" shells and the fourth one would not quite go in. Has anybody else had this issue? Any ideas why this might be? The only thing I could think is that the first shell was bumping up against the screw that goes through the mag cap for the sling swivel, but I don't think it is anywhere close to touching the end of the tube. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yep. They don't physically fit into the tube. You could get an extension...

2 3/4" x 4 = 11"
3" x 4 = 12"

That extra inch makes a big difference.

Ok, so it's not designed to fit four 3" shells. I thought it was buggered up somehow. Thanks guys.
