While your results may vary, naturally depending what your rifle likes; I find my Remington 700 Stainless shoots like a house on fire with 165 grain Hornady SST Light Magnums in 30-06. The trick I like with them is that they are also available loaded with a 165 grain Interbond. Same velocity, same weight and ballistic coefficient, just in a tougher bullet more suitable for elk. The SST is more suitable to thinner skinned game, faster expansion with its thinner non-bonded jacket. Considering I've just bought the Interbond's, I haven't had the time to confirm at the range if they zero the same as the SST's, but in theorey they should. If it proves itself on paper, I'll carry separate magazines loaded with each. Two loads....one zero... One option worth investigation. I also like the additional velocity they provide..... they're a bit flatter shooting.
