30-06 and the 175 LRX

I have a friend that has shot a couple of animals with this combination including a big bull elk. He has been impressed. Has anyone else had a chance to try this combination out?

I loaded some with RL17 and saw insane velocity - right around 3000 fps out of a 22.5" barrel. Slightly flattened primers but no ejector marks or stiff bolt. Still I felt the velocity (Oehler 35P) indicated quite high pressure. I backed it down a bit but haven't had a chance to do much testing. It does look promising though.

My 700 CDL in 300 Win Mag likes the 180 LRX/Norma MRP.

It will shoot it into ¾moa right out to 400 yards + and graphs 3125 15 feet from the muzzle.

I have yet to shoot anything with it, but perhaps will take it Moose hunting this fall.
