ok i was decapping and resizing as normal but just so happened one/my last shell to load for tonight happened to get stuck in the die,and the semi-rim broke off. i am wondering how i can get it out without ruining my die. if possible.or do i have to go buy a new die? any info would be really appreciated.thank you in advance.

uhmm by fl you meen full length? yes it is the full length(i think) it goes all the way down to the base.yes i did lube it up nicely.so it couldnt be that i never lubed it. it went in without to much strength then when trying to remove and prime it (i got the lee 50th anniversary edition) the semi rim broke off.i already decapped and sized about 150 so far today and loaded nearly 100 rounds and not a problem until the end.i bought the 3 set of dies lee dies(decapper/sizer,crimper,and bullet seater) hope that gives you all info that you need.thank you for the fast responce.:D

I hate to say so, but that wouldn't happen with the proper amount of proper lube.
Now, just a minute. Read on.
A lot of years ago, case lubing was often discussed in shooting related magzines. I distinctly remember them saying not to use such lubricants as common oils and greases. I can't swear to it, but I think lanolin was recommended at that time. Or of course, a lube made by one of the companies making reloading equipment.
Of the many types I have tried, I rate STP oil additive as the most heavy duty of them all, by far. As a trial I lubed one 30-06 case in the normal manner and sized it. I then sized another, which had not been lubed, then two more that had not been lubed! In other words, one normally lubed case had left enough lube on the die to allow the sizing of three more, dry, cases.
I don't see how it would be possible for a case lubed with STP to stick in a die. In normal lubing of every case, they come out like they had never been sized.
Most of the time I use one of the other types, like sizing wax or lanolin, because of the small amount needed and the much easier chore of cleaning the cases after.
You will likely get some good instructions on getting the stuck case out of the die.

well i havent had any luck yet ive had the die in the vise and trying to pull out the shell but no luck. so i was wondering if i can drill it out very carefully again and slowly not to heat up the die.until the brass case is weak enough to stick a fine pick in it to snap the brass and pull it out. let me know some ideas as i am in need of it. thank you very much.

No, do not drill it out. That will damage the die.

I would soak it with a good penetrating oil for a couple of days and then screw it into the press. With the decapping pin removed you should be able to insert a quarter inch bolt into the case and pound the case out with a hammer.

ok so i did drill out just the end /primer head of the cartridge just to get out the decapping tool. never went neer the die itself still .20 or so brass left between the die and brass.so now i have it soaking in a great penetrating fluid and hope it comes out soon.i geuss now all i can do is wait and hope. thank you for your help so far and any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. thank you again.

Lee decapping pins can also double as a stuck-case remover. Take the lock nut and hit the pin with a heavy brass hammer until it comes out. A regular hammer will peen the tip and you will have to touch it up after.

When the case is out, put it back in, just far enough to get the lock nut back on. I usually use a toothpick in the flash hole to make sure the decapping pin is as high as it can go. Tighten it and pull the case off of the pin with the remaining good part of the rim.

You can also use a pipe cutter once the brass is out to get your decapping pin out.
