30/06 load data

The rules are, you can use load data from heavier bullets, not the other way around,so if you can find some 190 data, you are good to go. If you have a chrony, you'll be pretty safe with H-4350,you might work up a load using VihtVouri max velocity.Be aware that H-4350 is a good deal faster than the N-560 listed,so your pressure will be higher.I use N-560 with my 30-06,fast and accurate with low pressure signs.

The powder charge and corresponding bullet weight are in proportion to one another, and this proportion remains true for all bullet weights and powder choices available in any given cartridge. In the case of the 185 gr bullet, it is about 2.3% heavier than the 180 gr bullet, so if your powder charge for the 180 gr bullet is 50 grs, reduce it by 2.3% for the 185 gr bullet, which rounds off to 49.0 grs. Provided you do not start from a maximum charge that you have not proven safe for use in your particular rifle, this simple calculation will keep you out of trouble when you can't find appropriate data for a bullet-powder combination.

I would like to load some lapua 185 Scenars and need some load data using H4350. Could I just load from the 180gr JHP data and work up from there checking for pressure signs and Velocity? Why is the only load data I can find for this bullet using VV powders?

There's 185 grain data here. Only with Vihtavuori powders, of course.

Otherwise use 180 grain data. Not 200 grain data. Five grains won't make any difference. Fifteen will.

Read the post before you flap your gums, he said he had vv data
