30-06 scope recommendations

I’m looking for recommendations for a new scope for my wife’s Remington model 700(older model) in 30-06 currently it has an old fixed power Burris scope (between 4x and 6x magnification) and it’s fine but we want more performance, my only experience with optics is old simmions, bushnell and Burris fixed power standard crosshair hunting scopes so I don’t mind lower quality glass or sacrificing features, I’d like to have one with standard crosshairs and distance drop marks if possible, doesn’t need to be illuminated, adjustable magnification is a plus but not necessary and 500$ or less, only brand I’m partial too is bushnell because I’ve had a few over the years but I’m not picky, it needs to be able to clearly see a moose at 100-500 meters any less and I use my 303 and any more than 400 ish meters I don’t shoot

Any recommendations are appreciated greatly

I recently mounted a sig whiskey 3 3x9 BDC on my parkerhale safari 3006. It is a perfect fit for the rifle. Usually they are $250 or less and I am happy with the glass. On a hot day out last 300 yards it starts to mirage a bit tho.

I would second the check the EE, lots of great optics in the $300-500 like older Bushnell 3200 or even Leupold vx freedom, vx1 or vx2(vxI vxII) or a rifleman if you can find one! All great scope for a decent price !

You can get into a burris HD 2-10x40 for about $450 used, or $580 new. Very clear glass, easy reticle.

I have one and shoot out to 500 m with it. The adjustable turret is a bonus if you know your range and have a drop chart handy. I use it on a 450BM, and with my 290 grain tips I need to use the turret to get out there.
