My buddy has offered to build (cnc) me an adapter so I can shoot Toks out of my old Rem P-17 30-06.My first question is --Will the 1.125 inches of extra freebore from the adapter possibly damage my rifling when the 86 gr bullet slams into it and what would you guys think would be the best metal to make the adapter out off??? I've liked the 7.62 x 25mm cartridge since I bought a Tokerev pistol over 20 years ago and would like to be able shoot that cartridge through a rifle.I know a shorter barrel than my P-17 would be better speed-wise, but I'm not ready to risk using my Browning until I'm sure I would not be damaging the rifling.Has anybody on GN's got that type of adapter and if so ,how do they work?

Does anyone here have any interest in such an adapter and does anyone have any thoughts or experiance with adapters of any size?

I've seen them in 32 acp and 30m1 but i have never seen one in 7.62x25 but if the adapter would fit the chamber with enough metal around the tok case to keep the adapter from stretching it should work.i use a steel adapter in my 30-30 to shoot 32acp ammo myself ok,they are popular to use for grouse shooting.

The .311 bullet of a 7.62x39 round seems to go through the .308 barrel of a RUGER MINI 30 with no problems.

The 7.62mm on the Tok pistol bullet is actually only .308" whereas the 7.62mm on the rifle round is .311".Don't ask me why it's that way but I've measured both with a micrometer and have been a reloader for years.
