hey ppl i live in alberta and am lookin for a 30-06 barrel its a remington 742 woodmaster if any of u can help me tht would be awsome i just got tht gun nd it had a ring in its barrel
 
If I could read what you have typed here, I'd answer it, but I'm not even sure if it is English. Welcome to CGN, but I'm afraid I don't speak Crackberryese.
 
Perhaps the "Gunsmithing" section would serve your purposes better. I fail to see how a burned out semi auto hunting rifle qualifies as a "Precision Rifle". You can find out about great sources for barrel blanks and such on here, but smithing a new barrel for a semi-auto can get pricey. Spelling, grammar and punctuation count as well. Be committed to writing a properly worded question and people will not dismiss you as if you were a child.

I have a winchester M-100 in .308 I'd love to re-barrel, so I know where you are coming from.

Nothing personal, but it is sad to see how communications skills have deteriorated in the younger generations. I've noticed this in university graduates as well.:( Another obvious shortcoming is in etiquette and table manners. I know someone who earns good money by teaching up and coming young executives and their wives how to set a table and how to eat without using their hands.:eek:

A replacement barrel for a Remington 742 will be difficult to find. The Equipment Exchange forum is one possibility.
 
a gunsmith bought my take off barrel from a 700 to put onto a pump remington so if the semi is similar (i have no idea) maybe you can to that route?

if u jst got the gun why dn't u return it frm where u bouht it or can u nt spel proprly enugh to do it?

Are you the poor bugger that was at Milarm on the weekend? Did you try Western Gun Parts? Also, if it's the same guy I mentioned above, he bought the gun as is, So it's a case of someone new to the sport getting taken by an #######.

The unemployment rate my be hitting the decimal percentiles.
 
Every one says these barrels are hard to find...... I found 4 today after looking for 15 min..... I was bored so I happend by the local g-store and asked if they had any.....

According to my local g-smith, the reciever should beat itseft to hell waaaaay before the barrel needs to be replaced. He figgures a Woodsman is only good for about 1000 rnds before you will start to see some fairly obvious indications that your rifle is going to fall apart.....

Personally I have no experiance with the remington semi-auto rifles. So this is all second hand info.....
