cant seem to find data on 150gr 30-30 with imr 4227.
does anyone have an older book with a starting load?

im thinking 15gr - 17.5gr should be ok, but want to confirm.

That powder is very fast. Good for cast. Not a good choice for jacketed, unless downloaded for short range plinker.

I was confortable sharing imr 4227 data for cast bullets, as i did some testing.Accuracy was ok but not quite what i was looking for.I settled with wc735 from Higginson using a2200 load data.Good accuracy in cast 30-30 and 308.

I keep my imr4227 for 44 mag and 357 mag.

bullets i will be reloading are berrys 150gr copper plated lead core.

im going to try 16.5gr, 17gr, and 17.5gr imr 4227, with federal brass, federal 210m priners at 2.550 COL with a light crimp.

i like imr 4227, as i use it for 300 blackout, and .308

berry 150gr plated FN over 17 gr of imr4227 set coal at 2.480.
shoots .5 inch groups 2inch lower than my 170gr fusion hunting load at 50 yards.
velocity was 1650 fps from my 16.5 inch marlin 336 dark.
im very happy with this load, as it has very little recoil, much quiter, and very cheap
