30-30 170 partitions

Has anyone used these in a 30-30 for heavier game than deer and if so what do you think of them?

I've used them on deer, and after seeing how they performed, I wouldn't have any problems using them on moose or black bear too.

I would like a heaver bullet for Moose, But they are easer to kill than Deer.

I know in the past ,there were those who wanted a heavier bullet to use in there .30-30 rifle ,who use to pull 190 bullets from .303 Savage ammunition and load them in the .30-30.

I would just load up 150gr barnes with LVR powder for bigger stuff due to price and finding stock, but I wouldnt hesitate to put the 170 partitions to all the same purposes (on anything that wasn’t willing to hunt me in return). Plus black bear hunts.

Just about any .30-30 170 grain bullet loaded to the top with LVR powder will topple moose without issue. I wish Federal would offer their Fusion bullets as hand loading components!

This really don't make sense same as taking a bullet from a 30-30 shell and putting it in another 30-30 shell. I have both also .

I guess back in the day, it was a way to get a heavier bullet to use in their .30-30.Perhaps back then ,303 Savage ammunition was easier to get than it is today.
