.30-30 Ai.....????

Well, BCWill, I am not going into this blindly believing either but I figger its worth a shot or two. At least then I will know and will have a better understanding of what to expect. They seemed to think we would not be able to load safely hot enough to come up to the expected performance but I got powder, primers, and boolits so I will just have to find out. How about "cautiously optimistic"?:)
Right on........let us know your results:cool:

I sold off my 30 AI in a stupid moment of weakness....:slap:

Thanks for the replies guys. All I need to do now if find someone who can do the rechambering for me. Any suggestions? Also as far as the 40% increase goes I'm not sure if your talking about the Hornady LR ammo or the difference between a .30-30Win and a .30-30AI but from what I've been looking at it looks for all practical purposes like a gain of around 20-25% for either. A .30-30AI with a 160grn Hornady Flex Point would make a nice round though.

Thanks again
Tim

I've rechambered a few 30/30's to 30/30 AI and I like the cartridge; for it's appearance if nothing else! I've also built a couple 25/35 AI rifles (one, on a Marlin, I really kind of liked).
The 30/30 AI would be especially nice on a Savage 340 and even better on a 788 Remington since spitzer bullets could be used. Regards, Bill.
