hey Guys

i was thinking that the 303 british would make an excelent lever action round, has anybody tried to rechamber a marlin, or shorten the case to the length of a 3030 cartridge using round tips (not to ignite the big bang theory again)
and if yes is there any numbers out there
thanks guys

I think that's short for Model, Winchester 1895. Just remember that most lever actions have tubular magazines, and most .303 that I've seen have pointed bullets, which is a no-no due to recoil, and the point of one bullet resting on the primer of the other.

The win.95 was def. chambered in .303 Brit. especially for the canadian market, you can also use pointed bullets in it's box magazine. Most orig. 95s you see in canada are indeed .303s and you should be able to pick up a decent one for $800 or so. In the US one sees many chambered in .30 US or 30/06, rarely(very) .35 Win., 38/72(Flatside), or the .405 Win.

I haven't, but I have shortened them to 35 Rem length. After fireforming you have a rimmed 35 Rem, AKA 35 Waller. This was used in a Contender.

what an interesting idea. :D

I've been contemplating what to do with a bubba enfield and thought that some sort of Deslile (?sp) carbine inspired creation was the way to go.

Now what about using a 303 shell shortend to about 1.25", should be around the 45 cal range at that point, perhaps a bottle neck .357.

Hmmmmm that would solve the bolt face issues :D
