30 30 bullets

Am I blind but I seem to cannot find 30 30 bullets. Where can you get them? Many thanks.

Yes it uses .308 diameter bullets
The profile for the bullets is generally shorter for use in 30-30s.
They need to be shorter to get a proper overall cartridge length
This in addition to being non pointed and generally blunter means that bullets designed for other .30s are generally not compatible.
Just search for .308 bullet that is in your weight range then look at the bullet profile or look up the manufacturers specs.

Not all over the place and if you find them, they are expensive. Most places are sold out, if the prices are reasonable.

I bought these from Rusty Wood for $79/500. With 6.5gr of Bullseye, makes a cheap plinking bullet for ~$0.20 per round. I was also buying Berrys 150gr from Custom Reloading Services for ~$15/100.

Perhaps the OP might invest in a reloading manual. There he would see several bullet style numbers, c/w bullet diameter, listed for most, if not all, .30 caliber cartridges. Including a whole series of pages listing suitable bullets for .30-30. The world of print still has a purpose.

Buddy is willing to reload for me. But I need to get the components for a 30 30.

The Hornady FTX component bullets are fairly common. The 160 grain has been proven as an excellent bullet. Any of the 170 grain flat points are fantastic at .30-30 velocities. Leverevolution powder gets top velocities. 170 Nosler Partition if you want something fancy.

Buddy is willing to reload for me. But I need to get the components for a 30 30.

If buddy make a mistakes - you will pay the price.
Since he will reload for you - he should have the knowledge of what it take for components for the load you want.

For plinking - I would go with lead bullet - 150 grains or lighter - coated or not.
Usually plinking load are light load.

unfortunately, I do not have space to reload.

For plinking I would buy cast or if you find some Berrys plated 150 gr FN.
