Just a rumour from another site, the cartridge is to be a rimmed WSM, with the new Hornady pointed bullets for tube mags, loaded under contract for Winchester by Hornady.
The rifle, is to be based on the 1892 action, but angle eject for you scope nutz.

That cartridge has to be about the same length as the 44 Mag.

Ok, april fools is still a few weeks away Bob, did the doc up your meds:):)

Woldnt that be an interesting little thing...
Maybe a 35 cal version too?

Geezuz we all know there is no advantage to a shorter, lighter, faster 30-30 with less recoil... I know this for shur cuz the "anti" short-mag/short-action masterminds said it wuz true...:p

............... i always hoped the .30-.30 was safe from going "disco"

..............i liken this to taking a jeep, slamming it and making a rice burner out of it. Disgracefull!!!!:D

Ever seen a 30/348?
Methinkks we can find a wildcat or two that has come scary close in proximity
already, but ------ WHATEVER!!:D
New cartridges are always cool!:)

What's wrong with the plain old 30/30? It's been doing a fine job, as is, for over 100years, esp in the classic 94 with peep sights. Pretty hard for the trendies to top that with a bunch of stainless and plastic!

Umm... excuse me, but how can Winchester be planning a new 92 in WSM if:

a) Winchester Repeating Arms USA is bankrupt and has stopped manufacturing operations.
b) Winchester Repeating Arms Co. has not had 1892 production tooling since they sold it for scrap in 1949.
c) The 1892 as manufactured by Winchester could never handle .30-30 pressures, let alone .30-30 WSM.

Sounds like a BS flag is in order.

Well, I think maybe browning might have something to do with it?
or maybe Uberti?

But yes, don't bother us with idiotic details, no matter how sane, there is a rumour about!!:D
