I’m looking for a gun smith that has a 30-30AI reamer
Would like to see what it would cost to Ream my H&R single shot 30-30

He's also on here. Everyone who cherishes democracy hates the Gov't.

Do you have any contact info?
I can’t find anything on here.
I search for D Henry and the web site has a fit.

Trust me I’m in the same boat about the government. Just what I found in a google search

I have retired from the trade and am no longer taking on any projects as mbogo3 previously stated. And your 30-30 AI on that H & R single shot would be a very good action and barrel length combination for the wildcat chamber, you would see some significant velocity increases. Good luck. D H.

Hey.

Too bad your not in it anymore.
Can’t seam to find anyone in with a reamer.
Maybe I should buy one and sell it after or rent it out?

It seams like a common cartridge to have done. Surprised their is not more around

I’m hoping to run a 130g TTSX at 2650fps if I do go ahead with it

I think those numbers are quite realistic, not sure what length barrel you have but probably not carbine length. Checking notes on my own Winchester 94 30-30 Ackley which has a 20" barrel, I was pushing 150 grain round nose bullets at 2575 fps using 37 grains of IMR 3031. This was a load that I considered maximum if not a little too hot for that type of receiver. My regular loading is 2 grains less at 35 grains of IMR 3031 which still runs over 2500 fps. So your 130's should skip along in the mid 2650 range without too much bother. If you get the job done be sure to post your results here for the rest of us following this thread. D.H.

It’s a 20” barrel the H&R action is a SB2. So it’s rated to 65k. So it’s plenty strong.
With the AI and reduceing the bolt thrust I am thinking I can run them a little hot.

I’m in contact with a smith now that has a reamer. So looking like a go.
Even had another gun nut message me about some 130g TTSX in stock. So I think I’m going to take the plunge.

Gonna need a Crony for this game too. Haha.

Well going to be shipping the 30-30 out soon.
Ordered some 130g TTSX for when it’s back too.
Who did you find to do the job? I'm also looking to do the same thing. And did you get a price quote? I think I read somewhere....something like $250.00 to do the job...sounds about right?
Wanted to do it for awhile, but needed a good 30-30 marlin to do it to.and just bought a good one to do the conversion on , 1959 , 336, good steel, and good wood, not a collectors piece, but a good rifle ,just the same.
Cheers
Brian
