$30/Box for WWB 9mm!

Was in my local gun store today and couldn't believe my eyes. He wants $30 for a box of 50 Winchester White Box 9mm, $250/case for M43, $103/140 South African 7.62 Nato.

When I commented on how much higher his ammo prices were than elsewhere, he replied with "you need to support your local dealer".

When I pointed out that I could get M43 shipped from SK for less money, he justified his price by saying, "it's going to go up to $350."

I wouldn't spend that on FMJ whitebox you could go to Edmonton and pick up Speer Gold Dot Hollowpoints for that much or Federal Hydroshoks. Buddy has been smoking too much of the green or rock if you ask me.

That's the heart of the thing, isn't it? I can spend a lot of time and money on gas and travelling to get stuff, or I can bend over for the local "convenience".

I shoot way too much to pay the local prices, and like most N. AB residents, travel to bigger centres quite regularly.

Yup I know what you mean, considering I live in Fort Mac I make it into edmonton at least once every 2 months.

I buy 147gr & 115gr 9mm @ $14 a box, $17 is the most expensive I've ever seen it out west. (I shoot Winchester & Fiiochi.)

I'd probably laugh in the dealers face and walk out.

I've looked online across Canada and guess what, $13-18 is the median for a box of 9mm.

I paid $14 1 or 2 months ago. the guy told me to buy all of it. cause the next shipment was going way up... I think I paid $9 2 years ago. lame.

10 boxes of that stuff at that price and you are well on your way to a nice reloading set up.

man, I was going to say that is not to bad of a price if it was thewin white box bulk packs (100 rounds) as that would work outto $300 per thou.

but 50 round packs... tel him to go fuxor himself and go buy a bulk lot of bdx.

Or you can get your brass from the range floor and other components from Andrew Higginson, and your 9 mil box will drop in price to $6. And that will be ammo tailored to your gun and liking.
