Hi everyone

I have started to reload my 7.62x 25mm ammo as many of you helped me out with.my bullets work great for the most part but the lead tips on my projectiles get warped a bit and they have a hard time feeding. I am currently using horandy 86 gr .30cal sp-rn soft point is there anyone who can tell me were to go get .30cal fmj projectile this may solve my problem please point me in the right direction.

cheers

Hornady make a 90 XTP HP and Sierra makes a 85 gr. Sport Master which has a very small exposed lead tip. If you cast Lyman makes a 75 gr. RN mold for the 30 Mauser and Tokarov.

This is becoming a rant of mine. Why don't you check out the banner advertisers at the header? These fellows, sell the rifles and it is in their best interests to make the ammunition available. It's all right in front of you.

Tradex, has the bullets, that you are looking for at $15/hundred.

You saved me a rant, Bearhunter! Thank you!

Yes, you can run the same slugs in
.30 Luger
.30 Mauser
.303 Mauser (C-96 commercials proofed in England)
7.65 Luger
7.65 Parabellum
7.63 Mauser
7.65 Borchard
7.62 Tokarev
nd at least 1 of the Bergmann rounds.

Lee Precision makes a nice double-cavity mould, too, 25 bucks in Canada.

Have fun!

No reason to diss the people who are trying to help you, ONeill.

Look through a Hornady catalogue. They are in there. Winchester makes them, too.

Just try getting some into Canada, though.

Trade-Ex is your best bet. If you don't like what they offer, then try casting your own. Use REALLY hard lead: straight wheelweights work fine in 7.62x25; I have been loading it since I got my first Tok while I was in Lewisporte, a mort of years ago.

i was not trying to diss anybody thats why there was a smilie face i was just trying to break the ice a bit, and I did check the banners up top i always do before i post, besides everybody has differn't opinions and i like to hear them so i have options. i really appreaciate the help I will check out the winchester stuff possibly the mould aswell as for wheel weights i have a friend who is a diesel mechanic and he told me before he has an endless supply of wheel weights.

any input is good input thanks again

Hi, One of my customers that bought the same bullets you are reloading with from me. (I couldn't get a banner) he's having the same problem with feeding that you have on his Tok. My supplier doesn't have a FMJ bullet around that weight. I am ordering him some Hornady 30cal 90gr HP/XTP bullets to try.
I don't think casting lead bullets will solve your problem.
Try writing to zippy_the_wonder_chimp

Thank you very much.how much do those bullets cost?(the ones you are ordering for buddy)
also i might be interested in buying the lee auto loader with lg and sm trays for $19.00 dollars your selling, how much would that be to ship to NL

cheers

Nancy would kill me if i bought a smelter and moulds.
I think the lead tips on my current bullets are causing the problem I was just a the range and they were not feeding the lead tips kept getting caught and dented and some of the bullets got pushed back in the casing. so i am going to buy Hornady 30cal 90gr HP/XTP bullets
their a little pricey $20 or so for 100 bullets but they look like they will due nicely.
and they are a little heavier but it is only by 4 grains which wont make a difference.

anyways rifleman call me

cheers

So what's the difference between a fmj roundnose and a hardcast roundnose in a small pistol caliber??? The lead tip exposed on jacketed pistol bullets is pure lead and very soft, and can catch when feeding, a hardcast bullet will react just like a fmj for feeding purposes.

I appreaciate your help,I am really new at reloading. i am not to confortable melting
lead:(, also i dont have a place to do it..........but maybe in the future I will look into it, when i get a garage or I get alittle more experience with reloading.
I will keep the hardcast in mind and i will do a little more research.
again thank you for your suggestion

cheers
