So I was setting up my RCBS die an screwing it down so the ram just over cammed. Measure just above the extractor groove and got .352 I then looked at the specs and the cartridge is supposed to be .354 Ya I know its only a couple of thou. Used my Lee carbide resizer and came up with .354 So that got me thinking I wonder what the various factory rds measured. I came up with this from my limited amount.

American Eagle .351
Winchester .352
S&B .352
Hornady Steel M .354
and I'm sure there will be variations in their boxes as well.

So I was wondering if this would make much difference in the accuracy department/functioning, or am I just being to picky as these rifle are not known for their laser like accuracy. Thanks Guys

And yes I know about trimming the case before reloading it. Max case length should be 1.290 I trim to 2.185

You looked in a book for a "spec". Should really cast your chamber and measure what your chamber wants. Can not be same size - i.e "0.000" clearance - otherwise, would not go in - need something for clearance I would think? It is a 30 Carbine - not going to be a bug shooter, I don't think, - depends on the rifle, I guess - but still nice to get it the "best" that it can be...

Ya sir looked in a book got three actually and online. My old speer manual says .354 and my hornady says .356 and SAMMI web site says .354. my Kuhnhausen Carbine book says .3548 to .3468. Chamber for USGI is supposed to be .3576 to .3596 So Looking at the range and the fact they all operate fine out of my carbines think i'll stick with the .354 size.

I have only worked with one rifle chambered for 30 Carbine - a Marlin Model 62 - needed to replace the firing pin. The guy who owned it wanted it to chamber, fire and eject the factory shells that he buys for it - dependably - that was it - was not interested in "tuning" or refining the loads, or making it shoot "better". It was what it was as far as he was concerned - about perfect for some of the stuff that he does along his trapline or out in the bush. He has an exquisitely accurate little Ruger in 243 that he takes, when high end accuracy is going to be important.
