Looking for some mauser recipes, see some W231 but was wondering if there is anything out there for bullseye, shooting either a 95gr cast or the sierra 308 pistol bullets not quite sure the weight, using new starline tok cases. Thank ya much:cheers:

A .308" jacketed bullet is too small. .309" to .311"
I've got data for an 85 grain cast out of my old Lyman book.
Bullseye 4.2(1128fps) to 5.0(1243fps)
Hornady doesn't publish load data on-line. They want you to buy their manual.
This is a .pdf from AA. Add the W's.

never tried 95 gr cast but had great luck with a 84 gr cast and 4.5 grs of bullseye....308 will not shoot well as the bore on the guns is usually .309 to .311 ...hope this helps out
:)

good to know

thanks much for the great input will flog the jacketed bullets, the cast rounds are all 312 in diameter, no need to work the old girl up in a frenzy with jacketed bullets bouncing around

a .312 cast or jkt bullet may expand case neck so much that ctg is a jam fit in the chamber(not good). .311 is max for my .30 tok in cz52 and same for my buddy's broomhandle in .30 mauser. A die set expander for .308 causes serious problems for .310-.311 bullets. Flaring req'd, gentle seating with a bullet matching seating punch, rotate ctg as you seat in stages or bullet may go VERY crooked and bulge case neck. My Lee .30 tok expander die was hopeless. I use a 32 acp or 32 s&w rcbs expander or lyman multiexpand powder thru die. Be patient til you have a method.
