While up north this summer, I found one loaded cartridge laying by a trail. The head stamp was 300 Jarrett.
Not familiar with this cartridge. Looks very much like an 300 RUM cartridge.Anybody know anything about this chambering??
 
That's what I recall as well. Necked up or down, and improved somewhat. Never owned one though. Back when beanfield rifles were hot they were a popular choice. - dan

Epps had a couple of Jarrett customs a few years ago at a small fraction of what they would've been new. Almost jumped on it. I see they now have a Hill Country 257 Wby at a good deal, must resist.
 
Ellwood Epps has had some for sale. I guided an American doctor who had such a rifle and cartridge, very well built. Jarret rifles are all custom and his cartridges are proprietary.
