So I ended with a couple of 300s, I have a 300 Win mag and a 300 wby, they are both stainless Vanguards with 24" barrels, I bought the Weatherby for a planned re-barrel, but I ended up buying a rifle in the planned calibre, so I am looking for suggestions on a possible magnum bolt face re-barrel, the 300 win is a fluted stainless Accuguard so it is staying as is. I already have a 375 Ruger, 338 win mag, 6.5x300 and a 257 Wby. I have a few other non magnum calibres as well as a 9.3x62. The other option is maybe keeping both 300s and setting them up with different bullet weights. Any positive suggestions are welcome.

What about an 8-twist Weatherby? You can rebarrel to the same, go to 26 inches, maybe throw a brake on it and glass bed the action. Load 210gr and up and send them wayyy out there.

Sell it, you are well covered.

You are right, probably well covered with two or three that I have, but I enjoy buying, selling not so much. I find if I have a project on the go it helps control the urge to buy and keeps the mind busy, the calibre question once answered leads to the stock question and the scope question etc. That is why I am happy it is called Gunnutz not Gunsmartz. Beats weaving baskets.

Bergara Wilderness Terrain in 300 PRC is around $1600 all in through IRG. Might be difficult to source ammo and brass (Lapua brass is supposed to be available this summer). Load 180-230gr bullets. Sell your other rifles..

If you've got brass for a .375 Ruger, you've got brass for the .300 PRC; it's the parent case.

A lot depends on what kind of use you're planning for it. As hoytcannon says, you're pretty well covered, at least for hunting. If you want a precision shooter in .300, then the PRC is the one for you.

If you don't already have a .375 H&H, you need one. You may get a notion to shoot a Buffalo in Botswana, and it's the logical choice for that possibility.

Well then.... you are missing a 7mm, you could do a big 7... you also stop at .375, so maybe a .416 or .458... something that chucks big chunks of lead.

There seems to be nothing over .40 caliber in your stable, you could build a .416 or a .458 on the Ultramag case which has the common .513" head size.

Has Trudeau not screwed us on owning African calibers with the new legislation?
