$300 norinco SKS

guys there is a used norinco for sale for only $300

I am considering offering a trade, what do you think ?

"I will give you 5 magic beans on trade for you $300 Norinco sks ?"

too high for a norinco .

blade bayo are found in 1965 and earlier chinese SKS, still a bit high .

not sure but you need more info , what factory and what year it was made .

one thing i know for sure , you are in the wrong forum .:D

.

SKS? Hmmm... wrong Forum! What the hey, here are my two cents worth!

What do you want it for?

The SKS is not a suitable hunting rife in Canada. Believe me, I have tried, and was disappointed. Western Canadian deer are just too big and too healthy. The 7.62X39 round was made for wounding, not knocking down deer!

$300 for a used SKS - NO

$140 for a new grease packed SKS - MAYBE, that's what I paid

$99 for a new SKS, grease packed, in it's original shipping crate - YES

In any event, that's my take on the situation.

I guess it really depends upon how badly you want one?

P.S.

SKS have the worst trigger I have ever come across. Lots of creep etc. etc.
It's a poor man's battle rifle, don't expect much!

Many people here have hunted and harvested many deer, bear, etc with their SKS's. I have personally seen it done, so I would have to say it is the "hunter" not the rifle that was the problem.

Where is here, and what weight of bullet were they using? Point regarding "the hunter" is well taken!

Man, I guess we all better throw away our 30-30's as well, since they have such similar ballistics.

One Shot One Kill

I have to disagree, I have Bagged three whitetails in the last 5 years using a SKS all one shot kills. Mind you they were all within 150 yrds.
I think its a perfect cheap/ inexpensive rifle, maybe not for everyone, but if you know how to shoot!! it should work just fine. One box of Winchester 123g i still have enough for 16 more deer.:sniper::wave:

please tell me that was at least a centerfire .22;

Even then I'd say no matter how good a shot you are, using a .22 is a little overconfident.

Or it was a matter of using what you've got at hand. There's a .22 in my family that killed a lot of deer a long time ago back when it was legal.
