Just bought a Remington 700 in 300RUM
Previous owner used Retumbo powder, but I can’t find any in Ontario. So his reloading data does me no good.
Anyone own a 300RUM Remington 700 and have a recipe? Or know where I can buy Retumbo?

How much difference have you guys noticed with same grain projectiles from different manufacturers? Example 180gr Nosler Accubond vs 180gr Hornady SST.
Reason I ask is My local shops are all picked clean for certain components. With no timeline for restock

H1000 with 210 Berger HVLD is a solid combo with the 300 RUM. Also H1000 with Berger 215 Hybrid. CCI 250 primers have also been the go to.

Ive loaded for 4 different 300 RUMs - Remingon Senderos all of them. One of those 2 combinations has been solid in all of them. Each combination has proven to be excellent for hunting. Proven on elk, moose, deer.

Seems like H1000 is real scarce these days. IMR 7977 or Vihtavouri N570 would be the next 2 powders I would look into.

I just bought the rifle used, put a TriggerTech trigger on and took it to the range. I was very impressed.

I am looking to cut my barrel to 22’’. I know a lot of people would disagree, but I want to try it out since I am tired of walking around with a 28’’ London boom stick. So I will try out some h4350 with some ELD-X 212 and 178. I also have some H1000, but thought that with a shorter barrel, using a faster powder would be better, what do you guys think?

fern2400.if you cut that barrel down that rifle will be a flamethrower. when I had mine even with the 26 barrel I could see lots of muzzle flash.

I did some research a little and a few people are running them as short as 20. But like I said using faster powder to burn it before the end of the barrel. So you avoid the flame thrower problem.
