I just recieved a beautiful old (1946) Savage 99 in 300 Savage. I have never reloaded for this round and was wondering if anyone with experience with this round could give me some insight ? What to watch for, what not to do, based on experience.

Try Reloder 15 in your 300 Savage.
I have found it to be hard to beat in that chambering.
Varget should also do well, but my rifle prefers RL15.
Eagleye.

imr 4064 and 150 or 165 grain bullets is a standard 300 savage recipe. Full length sizing to just bump the shoulder is also a good idea for relaible chambering as the sction does have a little monre "spring" in it than a bolt action.

Win 748 for all bullets from 150-180gr. 1/2 MOA or better 42gr -150gr/41gr-165gr/40gr -180gr bullet win cases Savage 99.........Harold
