Congratulations Joey you're the 3rd CGNer that I know of to get a .300WSM Frontier

. They are quite scarce since Ruger stopped chambering the rifle in .300WSM after about a year.
As Tod points out they duplicate 30:06 ballistics in a much more compact and handy rifle. I've had one for about 2 years now and love it -

its my main go to rifle for moose and deer. it defines compactness and ease of handling in the bush.
Yes there is recoil but it's not all that bad. It likes to climb a bit so if you shoulder it firmly and put a bit of downward pressure on the foreend it's more of a moderate to medium push sraight back. This is with maximum loads

. My buddy whio is a tad recoil sensitive took it on a Caribou hunt and had no issues -said he was pleasantly surprised

.
I found the noise to be not too bad - but people besides apparently found it loud.(the expression on people's faces when you touch off the "kid's gun" at the range can be priceless)
Basicallly I got 1/2 inch 3 shot groups at 100 yards off the bench

. I got a timney trigger for it- the ruger one is fine but a little heavy for my personal taste - and set it up so I could quick detach scopes both front for the bush and rear for where longer shots are available.
I wrote a couple of reviews on it on CGN a while back but can't seem to find them. the above sums it up. You got an excellent price on ther perfect moose/deer/bear bolt action rifle and with its scarcity, i beleive it's a great investment too. Enjoy!
