300 ultra mag

Rig Pig,
What worked well with my Sendero 26" tube was:
1) The best albeit a bit slower mv H4831SC 82gr, Berger 210 VLD, Rem brass/ primer ave mv was 2890 6 shots in 0.523" @100. COL ~3.79
2) H1000 92gr ,Rem primer / brass (weight sorted), 208gr Amax seated to the grooves. MV 3090. Sub MOA @100
3) Retumbo 92.5gr, SMK 220gr, Rem brass & CCI mag primer sub MOA @100 MV 3030fps

The biggest issue in putting 600 rounds through my gun is the brass quality. Still searching /scouring for nosler brass.

I have a good luck with my 180 grain noslers partitions behind 98 grain of RL22 about a 2 1/2 inch group at 500 yards :)

There is no way that I would ever load 98gr of R-22 behind a 180gr partition with either of my 300ultramags.95gr of R-25 produces 3340fps with a 180gr partition in my rifles.

I wonder why you are alive, I load to 88 gr of RE22 behind 180 Accubonds and this is the max load according to Nosler web database. Go buy lottery tickets and do not fire any of those rounds.

Hmmm my 300 ultra is build on a browning action no signs of pressure. And I can put 3 bullets in one hole at 100 and 200 yards no issue. No lotto ticket needed on my end it has been eating this load for a few years now with no issues. Once the barrel is shot out of this it will become a 338 Edge. But I would work up to this load with caution forsure it is a very very hot load

Of course you won't and can't prove it. What's the MV with that magical load?

At least do some research before you publish your next story to make it half believable, better yet, no more stories.

The more gullible folks out there with real guns who actually reload might use some of your data with unfortunate results.

Well Andy sense you have never seen the gun that its build on pretty hard for you to tell whats fact or fiction. And its easy to call some one out on the internet but If you would like to come out to Alberta some time for a hunt I would be more than willing to show you my rifle and load. As for MV I don't own a Chrony but if I do buy one I would be more than happy to send you a print out of the MV. And as for you being a none believe I really do give a flying f-ck what you think :nest:.

Seriously Jurdan, an accident is bound to happen. PLZ. don't let any of your friends and relative to be near you when you fire that ''monster'' gun.

The brass will let loose.

Jurban, not slamming you in any way but I'd realy like to see how fast that load is going. If possible maybe fire a couple through someone elses chrono. When the Ultras first came out a friend worked up an accurate load for Deer hunting, he said pressure was fine and was very accurate. Turns out it was going 3450 fps. My books say at least 10+ grs less but if you've been shooting it for years and primers are staying tight who knows.

I'm shooting 220 serrias match kings with 92 grains of reloader 25. I'm getting 3120 fps.barrel is 30 inches.

A 94 grains of Retumbo and a 200 grains Nosler Accubond load places 5 slugs within an inch at 300 yards.

95 grains of RL-25 behind a 180 grains Nosler Ballistic Tip provides similar results.

98gr of r-22 behind a 180gr bullet will produce far more than the 65,000 PSI pressure than the 300RUM is designed to operate at,in any rifle with a chamber cut to anywhere near normal dimensions.I have owned two 300RUM rifles, and loaded for two more, and all would show pressure signs if loaded above 95gr of r-25 with a 180gr bullet.R-22 burns more quickly, and produces even more pressure than R-25.
