Is this rifle discontinued or whats goin on here? Are they crap or good rifles?
Anyone own one care to share there experience with it?

Handled and shot a freinds last fall. For a non Winchester, very nice gun. Very light and felt great. I could deffinatly see packing it up a mountain for whatever. Accurate too.

I own one in 300 Win Mag. Extremely accurate and lightweight. I'm not crazy about the stock but its probably because my daily use rifles are all stocked with the same Wildcat model.

Look for it on EE shortly.

I looked at one last fall. IMO, they are a bit light for the kick of the .300 wby. BUT, each to their own. IF you are looking for one in BRAND NEW condition, the wholesale sports here in Saskatoon has one on its shelf as of last Sunday. Same one I looked at last fall. I believe it is a clearance item now and I think they dropped the price to just under $1000 (don't quote me on that price).

I did buy a .300 wby Vanguard Sporter last fall instead. Very nice gun to shoot, and reasonably accurate (just over 1 MOA). Only reason I declined the backcountry was because of the weight. My shoulder takes enough of a beating from the heavy sporter. Now, if I could ever get my hands on a backcountry in .257 wby, that would be a different story.
