anyone use h4831 for a 300 wby?it was recommended by a friend, but not sure if i want to start the whole testing process again. i've been having some pretty good success with 84 gr rl-22 with 180 ballistic silver tips (3/4" 3 shots@100yrd) and 82 gr imr7828 (1" groups). the gun is a completely stock weatherby vanguard synthetic, not exactly a precision rifle, but i'm not gonna complain(specs guarantee 1 1/2" from cold barrel). that's another thing i don't understand, what's with this cold barrel crap? if i'm buying a hunting rifle, i want to know what 3 quick shots will group like. who can afford to wait and let the barrel cool down if a second or even a third shot is needed to put down an animal?(i guess if you need 3 shots, maybe you should trade the gun for a side of beef???lol)anyway, i'm done ranting, so if anyone has experience or load data with 4831 they don't mind sharing, it would be appreciated, thanks

I used to use H4831 under the 200 Nosler a lot. Was my hunting load for most of the time I used the 300 WBY. Your 7828 load could go up a bit and will probably shoot better a little faster. PM me if you want my data on the 200 gr.

I use RL-22 with 180 gr Hry Interbond.
Shoots great, in a rem 700.
H4831 did not shoot accurate out of this rifle at all. 2 inch groups , down to 3/4 ,,3 shot groups with RL-22

Figure RL22 was the best with mine.

First shot with a cold barrel is the one that should count. If your hunting weight barrel shoots the same point when heated up, as many do for a couple of shots, then that's a bonus.
