Using the Woodleigh manual load data for reference I developed a load with the 240gr PP SN for my Grey Wolf. A charge of Re22 produces a muzzle speed of 2700 fps (chrony positioned 7.5m from muzzle). Should be a pretty decent penetrator with controlled expansion.
Woodleigh recommends for this bullet a minimum twist rate of 1:10" for proper stability. The 300 Win Mag Grey Wolf has a 24.6" 1:11" twist barrel. Turns out that accuracy is acceptable with a 1:11" twist. The Berger Bullets twist rate calculator predicts comfy stability for a 1:11" twist at 2700 fps muzzle speed.
