Hello everyone
I am looking for a chart that shows the weight and or internal volume of 300 win mag cases of different manufactures.

Specifically is Hornady cases heavier (less internal volume) or lighter (more internal volume) than Winchester cases?

The Hornady manuals use Hornady/Frontier cases for some of their load data.

If they are significantly different, then the powder charge will need to be adjusted near the upper end or maximum powder charges.

Thanks.:)

There are many variables than case capacity when going off a manual. Personally I’d use your Winchester cases, start low and let the rifle tell me where the maximum powder charges are.

It's a good idea to weigh all your brass even if they have the same head stamp but are from a different lot. I like Winchester but there can be significant variability- not as bad for 300 mag as 308 win but it's there. Changing primers can have as much of an effect as changes in brass - especially going from standard to magnum primers. That's why you need to start low and work up. Same for trimming brass - forget to measure and trim if needed and your pressures can go through the roof. Unfortunately I am speaking from first hand experience

I can tell you from personal experience that different batches of Hornady cases have vastly different wigths and different internal volume. Weigh your cases. , or you will get very inconsistent results

typically , Hornady is light and has large internal capacity over a wide spectrum of chamberings

300 win mag really varies depending on case brand. I had two batches of Nosler brass that were about 4 grains h2O different
