Somehow, the idea of a 223 rifle or a 308 isnt exciting enough, I would rather shoot 300 win mag.
Which rifle would you buy for 300 win mag target shooting? Heavy weight, low recoil, preffered with a brake from factory.

I am thinking about savage 110BA.

Or any other rifle with a brake, or add a clamp on brake. (I don,t want to have gunsmithing done)
Ideas?

Rem 5r 300 winmag, avail at site sponsors. have any smith put on a brake.

it would be around $1500.-1700 taxes in, brake installed. Very straight shooters.

I just dont get it
you say 223 or 308 are not enough of a gun for you so you want to go 300wm
but then it is too much and you want to put a brake to tame it down

if you are looking for a cartridge with long range capability and low recoil, I am thinking of a 7-06AI for my next build
I find the 338LM a little hard on scopes

I find that I don't shoot thaaaat much target because I shoot pistol and clays and ar15 also.
So I would rather just buy one 30 caliber rifle and use it for moose also.
If I ever get more money then I might get a target 308 or something.

Which rifle shoots better, the 5r milspec or the 110BA?
if I go rem, I would like an AICS build.
police or 5r in AICS?
300 win mag AICS seems epic to me.
(338 would be nicer, but too much recoil and cost to shoot is way more. can get bulk 30 cal ammo, but not so much bulk 338 ammo.)
and 338 recoil is just too much for me even with a brake and a heavy rifle like the 110BA.

Just my 2 cents. I have the 300 Win Mag 110BA and have had terrific success with accuracy. It shoots soft and operates smoothly. Just make sure you use good hearing protection because IT IS LOUD.

"...target shooting?..." What kind? Most, but not all courses of fire allow magnums of any kind. In any case, you do not want a hunting rifle for target shooting with a magnum, brake or no brake. The felt recoil will pound you into next week if the guy sitting next to you doesn't.
"...max rifle value +- 2000..." MSRP of a Savage 110BA is more than that. Be surprised if you could find one here anyway.

I have also had really good luck with my 110ba in 300wm. It shoots really good. Not to often will it shoot a group over 1moa.

You should have a look at the 110 in the HS precision stock. I think they are going for around $1750. Its close to the same gun just a different stock and brake.

Where I'm at, the 110FCP HS Precision in 300WM can be had for $1100 plus tax from WSS. I looks just like the 10FCP, just a long action.
It does not have a muzzle brake or the Accurate bottom metal like the 110FCP in 338 Lapua. Would still be an excellent choice though.
