Hi All,

I would like to use IMR 4895 for my .300 win mag loads (Barnes triple shock). My manual is stating 52.5 starting grain. Any advice for this load would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Sean

I am shooting 73 grains of reloader 22 behind 165 grain Barnes X bullet. Winchester large rifle magnum, and Winchester brass. My other load that I will be using hunting is 75 grains Reloader 19 behind a 180 accubond bullet. Same brass/primers. Both have been accurate at the range, and I care more about accuracy than velocity. (I have only chrono'd the X bullet and it is reaching 3040 fps 15 feet from the muzzle. Thats plenty fast for me, I am only shooting at 250 yards or less MAX. But the guys ahead of me are right, use a slower powder for 300 win mag. H1000 is a powder I will try next as tons of people say its great in the win mag. Good luck

Any advice for this load would be appreciated.

Skip it, and use a more suitable powder. 4895 is too fast and will only fill your case about 2/3 full. It works well in a .308win based case.

H-1000, H4350, H4831...
