300 win mag

I've never fired one, but I would think the recoil of a 300 win mag would defeat the purpose of a lever, the quick handling fast repeater etc.

Levergun = light, short rifle designed fast shooting.

.300win mag = long range percision shooting

why would you ever want to mix the two is beyond me. at levergun ranges the .300mag does nothing the .308 win can't.

Im sure the BLR shoots accurate enough to make field shots out to 1/4 mile possible with a good shooter, they are not an open sighted Model 94 :p

And as posted in another thread, the Euro version

If you like the lever style action (and the BLRs in particular) they are pretty good rifles. I have known a few people who used them (and BARs) for small bears in East.

I gotta disagree SC. Why limit yourself to Win94s, or some 336, in lameo calibers (you know what I mean), when you can step up to the BLR in 308 or even 300WM. Personally I dislike the BLRs more than a 94, but the only thing 'lever' about them is the action, other than that they are available in modern chamberings, with better accuacy, and a better mag structure. I mean if you want good flat power, the BLR in 300WM is better than say a 94 in 32. And frankly I always preffered the BLRs in the better chamberings, they too blow in some of the wussier chamberings.

Good point, the time required to recover from the recoil of the 300win mag in this rifle, and to reaim will pretty much negate any speed advantage offered by a lever action.

That's what I meant. The BLR in a .308/708 is a good rig, but I wouldn't want one in a LA.

Lebarons has it in their catalog. they don't always have it in stock, but if in their catalog, they'll bring it in upon request & you don't even have to pay anything (as it is a catalog item).

That would be your first mistake, trusting LeBarons to ACTUALLY get something in the catalogue into your hands.
