Well I just got the rifle back from AC Douglas in Saskatoon where it was getting the action bedded. He did a perfect job and had it done way sooner than expected. The rifle is a Browning A-bolt M-1000 Eclipse in a .300wsm with a 26" barrel using a 1 in 10" twist. I have the NEAR 25 moa base and NEAR alpha rings mounted along with my Leupold VX-3 6.5-20x50mm LR scope and a Harris bipod. Another change I made was a Timney spring in the trigger that is supposed to put the pull around 2lbs. Trigger feels much better now. Rifle weighs in at 12.75 lbs on the bathroom scale. I may look into getting a muzzle break put on as even at that weight it still had more recoil than I remembered. I was anxious to see how it shot so to the range I went.

Previous to the action bedding this rifle has shot 3 shots of Winchester super X 180gr ammo in 11/16". I did not have this ammo around to try as I thought I would try a little more high end ammo. I guess I should have got some to see if the rifle shot that ammo any better but I didn't, oh well.

Ammo used: -Nosler Custom Trophy Grade with Accubond Bullets. 180GR
-Remington Express Core-lokt. 180 GR
-Federal Premium Vital Shok with accubond bullets (same as
Nosler) 180gr.

Here are the pics along with descriptions for each. Let me know if they work. There should be 9 pics there. I used the rifle stand that is in the 2nd pic to shoot all the groups. All shots fired at 100 yards.

The rifle started out with a semi-clean barrel (butche's couldn't get all the copper streaks out) but it definitely started to shoot better as the barrel got some rounds through it.

I would fire a couple shots then allow barrel to cool. I chrono'd every round. If I felt like I pulled on a shot, I would fire another that is why some groups only have 3 shots and other groups have extra.

Here is how each Brand chrono'd with chrono at 10ft:

Remington express: Total shots fired - 13
Minimum FPS -3308
Max - 3392
Average - 3326 FPS

The shot that went 3392fps was the only one that high, the next closest to it was 3345 fps, all others were under 3345. This is a very fast round for this rifle. Bolt extraction was firm but other than that I never seen any over pressure signs. It had a few rounds that grouped tight, if the powder capacity was match grade I feel this round would have shot very well.

Federal Premium: Total shots fired - 7
Minimum FPS - 3026
Max - 3084
Average - 3060

Less deviation here with velocities compared to the Remingtons but also a lot slower.

Nosler Customs: Total fired - 8
Minimum FPS - 2856
Max - 2899
Average - 2874

About the same deviation as the federals. The slowest of the bunch by almost 500fps!

Each type of bullet showed promise by having a couple group almost in the same hole. I think this is when I shot two back to back with very similar velocities. In the end on the second round of groups the Federals did seem to shoot the tightest group and it did measure under an inch. Remingtons showed some vertical dispersion and the Noslers were O.K. but not what I am after. Oh it will be nice when I get reloading that is for sure. I feel like the rifle will be plenty capable of shooting some tight groups.
