First experience with WSM of any kind. I have lots of reloading books, lots of Data, but sometime it just does not hurt to ask.
The rifle will be used for hunting deer and moose by my Old Man, I picked up a cheepy 11 Savage as a gift for him and was wondering if anyone has a good place to start.

Do these things like a certain Powder before I go nuts down stairs or a specific Weight bullet, I have no Idea teh twist i would expect 1:10

Thank you

Did you buy that one from Williams?

I had a .300wsm, but traded it before I could develop any loads. From all that I read, I surmised that H4350 was the powder to start with. I'd go with a good bullet for close range deer hunting, like a 165gr IB or Accubond, Partiton. Skip the ballistic tips and SST's.

Yes i thought 4350 was a good starter too.
He does not shoot past 100 yards so MOA of a baseball will do !

But being me I will develop a sub moa load for him load 100 rounds for him and it will be good for life LOL!

Something not right about an old guy shooting a WSM. A 30/06 or 270 seems more appropriate for the baby boomers.

Next you'll have him wearing big baggy jeans with his underwear sticking out the top and his baseball hat on sideways. Poor guy. :D
