300 wsm?

Extremely accurate, good barrel life, good to 1500 yards depending on bullets, heavy recoil if not using a brake. Was successful in F-Class to 1000 yards but only with people immune to the recoil. Now, not used much.

I got Mick McPhee to put one of his .30 barrels into WSM fir me in one of my 950T actions and I set it up fir one mile plinking
VERY accurate with 220 grain match bullets !

WSM.... I'm a fan. Presently having one built on a PGW single shot with a 1-10 Krieger. Throated for the 210's. Also have a "heavy" varmit on a 1-15 running 125s @ 3700 fps. It's a laser beam! Brass is becoming a challenge unless you want to spend big $$$. If your personal GVW soaks up recoil as I do, it's a great choice. Best of luck. Piper.

BTW, I also have a 6 lb feather weight in 300 and a 366 built as hunting rigs. The 366 is moving a 290 @ 2220. It should be the hand of Thor!

I picked up a T3 lite in 300 WSM over the winter. So far I couldn't be happier. I was hoping it wouldn't shoot well so I could rebarrel right away but it's really decent with box ammo. The 180 grain Sako Hammerheads hold close to 5/8" groups. I'm just waiting on neck bushings then I'm ready to reload for this guy.

Only set back with the stock barrel for long range is it's twist rate. 1:11 might not work great for 205+ grain bullets.

I've got 200 grain ELD-X here to try and a bunch of brand new Hornady brass.

FWIW, I'd say recoil is closer to 7mm RM than the 300 WM

Sweet let me know how it does with that grain
