So I'm going to start reloading for my 2 garands. I am going to go with 150 grain fmj hornadys on top of imr4895. I was wondering if anyone else out there was using this and what success they have had with it.

I don't want to get into tailor loading for each one as I'm going to be using the ammo in my 1903 Springfield and a p17 that I have. This will just be bulk plinking ammo that I can grab and go to the range.

Hornady has specific loads listed for M1 garands. I'm using the same bullet but loaded over 50gr IMR4064. Runs at 2815fps out of my '43 SA M1. Shoots well too: used it on steels out to 500m.

I have the hornady book at home. I will look it up when I get home. I use imr4895 for my lee Enfields already and want to try and keep the number of different powders down. If I have some imr4064 I will try it out

My favourite M1 recipe is 150gr Hornady AMAX, 48gr H4895, Federal 210 primers and Winchester brass. This load works equally well in my 1903 and M1917. Even with my old eyes can get 2.5 to 3" groups at 100y.

There is a lot of information in those links but there was also a lot that didn't help very much in my situation. Thanks for taking the time to post the links.
