300aac blackout

I'd suggest putting a light crimp on some and seeing if it makes a difference to the accuracy when you test fire. It's not a heavy recoiling gun and the case should have decent neck tension for the fairly mild stresses that will be dealing with, but it may make it shoot a bit better. Only one way to find out I guess. Give it a go.

The primary purpose in my mind for the 300bo is subsonic heavy bullets (of course this would make more sense if Kanada wasn't governed by anal sphincters) As such I only bother with heavy 225gr bullets and it took a while developing a load that met my accuracy minima: Crimping, like any factor in such a small case capacity does make a difference and it did in my development of a load where IMR 4227 shone brightest. It was a medium crimp, but you'll need to figure if there is any advantage in your load development. Short answer to your question: you may not need to crimp and it's certainly not a prescribed minima for proper reloading of 300bo since recoil is insufficient to move bullets in their respective case necks... I don't even crimp 6.5x55 or 270 and never had an issue with 30-06 either: heavier I'd be expecting crimp is necessary.

I dont crimp for my bolt action reloads. I run the book max of H110 and run 125 SST and Speer TNTs around 1MOA at 100 yards in my cheap 783.
