Lets talk seriously about this, because I think its an interesting caliber and I like the Vz58 platform. (Also I feel like the black rifle forum gets too much attention and I think there's more than just SKS convos to be had in Red Rifles
)
What would be necessary to build a Vz58 chambered in 300blk? Could an individual do it for less than $2000? Because that's a pretty good deal when you compare it with 300BLK AR-15s.
Hypothetical:
Take a 7.62x39 Vz58.
That gives us our .30 cal barrel.
Now put a .223 Bolt in it.
Put a CSA Magwell adapter in it. 300blk feeds from pmags right? Could we skip that if it would feed from a CSA .223 polymer mag even?
At this point the only thing we're missing (I think?) is a properly sized chamber.
I don't know much about how the chamber on a Vz58 is constructed. How hard would it be to take to a gunsmith and get one sized/made?
For those with more experience with the round: Would 300blk cycle the piston okay on a Vz rifle?
Is anyone considering this as an interesting project?
