So I'm on WSS website and all I can find is .308, 30/30 and 338. Not one says 300WM. Am I to assume that 308 and 300wm are the same bullet(Cal) just fired at a faster velocity? No I'm not stupid... Just new is all.

Yes, they are both 308 calibre, however you may want to be more selective as to the bullet construction for the 300WM considering the energy that will be behind it.

As in don't buy the cheapest crap I can find?
As I am going to be using these for punching through paper at 300 to 400 yards I was thinking about getting bulk Winchester bullets from WSS.
$34 for 100 in .308 What do you think?

What bullet weight are they? That's certainly cheap enough to be worth a try, you're not out much if they turn out not to be to you expectations. I would want to shoot at least a 165 grainer out of a 300WM.

Sorry forgot to mention 180gr PP(although I am still trying to find out what PP means)

FYI
Did a search on "bullet" at Wikipedia and they came up with 83 different abbreviations for bullets eg. JSP, PSP, PSPPTDSP
but none for PP. Must mean Paper Puncher. If they are not jacketed I will find another that is. Thank you

I believe that means Power Point, if it does, then those are the same ones they load in their low buck hunting 300WM ammo. Really good brass comes with those ones too. I can't really say as whether those bullets are accurate, as I had burned through all that I bought before I really learned what I was doing out there. But like I say, good brass for reloading. And anything that lists as either 308 or 300 (including 30-06 and 30-30) is using the same 308 caliber bullets, including all the 300 magnums, of course more powerful ones can use heavier bullets. The only oddballs I can think of, are the 303 and the 7.62x39, which typically use .311 bullets, or slightly larger even.

Yes they are jacketed. PP is power point, which is your standard soft point hunting bullet. I'm they will work fine for what you want, unless you're trying to compete...

They are the same bullet that Winchester loads in their Super-X ammo...

For $34/100 your not that far off from going with the 155 or 168 amax. They both have a B.C that far exceeds the power points and you can unvail the true performance of your rifle. They both work good in my Rem sendero with a 1-10 twist. Just my $0.02.

Your reloading manual will tell you what caliber bullet goes with each cartridge.

You do have a manual, right?

You still use a manual? With paper pages and all? I thought info could be taken right off an internet forum? Can't I believe everything to be true?

I shoot 200gr. Accubonds from my 300 Win mag. in one rifle. My other 300 Win mag likes the 180gr. Hornady IL (interlock).

The Hornady bullet might be good one to try. There's a boat tail version as well, if that's what you desire. I find they're a bit better bullet than the Winchesters, and close to the same price.

Good luck with your rifle, Eric

300 WM Bullets

I've been using 155 AMAX in my Sendero as well for 600 yd shooting. They work well, MOA in wind just not on target?! Heavier would be better for longer range. The 155 gave good results to 300 yds.
