Just wondering if anyone has had luck with the ELDX in a 300wsm? 200gr might be too long but I saw hornady has a factory load for them. I typically shoot 180gr Accubonds but they are scarce. Seems to be lots of the ELDX on shelves.

I have zero experience with them but have been watching with interest. In my 300wsm just from the playing around I’ve done I’d go with the 178gr ELDX, if I wasn’t so stocked up with what I’m using now I would.

Interested to hear what you are using now? I am looking for another bullet that may be an alternate to the Accubond until I find more. Was thinking 180 gamekings or 180 interlocks??? Not sure if the 180gr TTSX would open up enough at longer distances?

I'm shooting 180 Ttsx with H4350 and it's doing 3036fps in my 300wsm.

you could always go for the lrx if youre worried about expansion

Wow that sounds good, my 300WSM is 1-11" twist as well. 180 TTSX going over 3000 fps should have no problems opening up on moose and elk. I have a good supply of H4350 so I might have to grab some of those bullets.

Got 200 gr ELD-X and 175 gr LRX for my new WSM. Haven’t reloaded for this caliber yet! I chose the 200 gr ELD-X for a mixed heavy hitter/target bullet which seemed easily available. Figured the LRX is perfect for hunting at closer range due to solid construction.

165 interlocks, the last 5 moose were bang flop, one head shot the others double lung pas through.
Just couldn’t get the velocity I wanted out of 190s. 165 GMX are longer (1.432”) and definitely more accurate the my interlocks (1.194”) the 178 eldx are 1.41” . Maybe just me but I’ve always seen to get better accuracy out of a longer bearing surface.

6 moose I forgot 1

I have been reloading the 165 TTSX in my brothers Tikka 300wsm. Barnes designed the 165 TTSX for the short magazine of the 300WM. The Tikka 300wsm has a short magazine and this combo with H4350 is deadly.

I shoot the 175 LRX in my 300wsm as my rifle has a longer magazine. Great bullet for short and long range.

I did try the 178 eldx in my rifle. Very accurate with H4350 but I hesitated to use it for hunting. I was afraid of the reviews I read of excessive blood shot from close shots, especially from a bullet travelling faster than 3000 fps.

Yeah sounds like I should give Barnes bullets a try. I have always stayed away from them due to stories of the bullets not expanding, seems like that's not the case anymore since a ton of people are having great results. I have had great luck with the 165 partitions but liked the heavier 180 accubond.
