Howdy,
does anyone use the 180gr Winchester super x brand ammo for hunting purposes?
hows it perform, or better yet hows it shoot in your gun?
has anyone recovered a projectile (any super x cal) for that matter?

How do you rate the ammo as a hunting round?


Im using it as its very cheap, in relation to the premo stuff. but havnt shot much with this calibre or bullet yet, close range stag was a pass thru..

interested in hearing from those who may have hunted with the bullet before.

WL...I have used this bullet in the 150gr weight in 308 win. It was very effective on Roe deer and pigs...lots of shock and usually, bang flop. For reasonably priced ammo..works real well. You may have more meat damage with the increased vel of the 300 wsm..but it should get the job done, no problem, especially if your rifle likes it.

Good basic design, has worked around Sask. for years. Use it in my 300 win mag as factory back up. 180's make a bit less damage than 150's on deer, usually go through. Have only used on deer sized though.
