Just picked up an interesting barrel only c/w original military adjustable sights.
Research indicates that it is from a military trainer produced by BSA for the Australian Junior Cadets circa 1910. It is .310 cal. Rear sight is stamped "PAT 22681-05 and PAT 841910". Too bad it's only barrel and sights. Have not yet found a picture of complete rifle. Can anyone provide picture or more info.? Thanks

The rifle was built up using the small Martini action. Almost full stocked. Ctge was very similar to the .32-20. Some rifles would actually accept .32-20 ammunition, or would with only a slight reaming.
You got the barrel because someone discarded it. The actions were popular for conversion to custom rifles in any number of smaller cartridges. They sold for as little as $9.95, before folks realized just what a fine rifle they were. Unaltered ones are now uncommon.
