I have a No.1 Mk3 that until recently was fine. Now when I shoot the bolt jams after shooting. With an empty shell it goes back/forth- no problem. Also when the trigger is pulled( live ammo ), the magazine drops out. Has anybody run into this and how do you fix this. Thanks.

The trigger and mag catch spring are one in the same, take the rifle apart to see if there is something ammis. What do you mean the bolt jams, how exackly?

After firing, when you go to pull back on the bolt, you literally have to pull/yard back on it to even get it to budge initially. After you do get it to move, it goes back and forth no problem.

I'm no Lee Enfield expert (don't own one at the moment either) but I have had the privilege of firing my friend's Enfields and it almost sounds like the magazine is not locked in. I usually had to make sure it was going in the bottom of the action properly then give it a little slap to get it to lock into position. Making the magazine latch just isn't catching ?

Can't really help you with the bolt though.

Try giving the chamber a real good cleaning. Sometimes oils and grease can solidify in the chamber. add in heat from firing and some carbon and you have a ready made glue that makes extracting cases a pain.

If this does not work, I would take it into a smith and have the chamber looked at.

Another suggestion for you. I have a Bubba'd No. 4 that had a bolt which was intially reluctant to lift from the closed position ( and lower into as well)
After inspecting it several times, I discovered someone had taken the safety lever off and re-installed it out of lock. Even with the safety lever in the fire position it still was partially engaged. I took the screw holding the lever off turned the piece in the reciever to fully dis-engaged and re-installed the lever.
Fixed it like a charm.
Good luck
