Just wondering if anyone has information about 6.5mm or 7mm / .303 br wildcats?

I can't find much info using The Google. I'm thinking of getting into reloading in the future - seems like it might be an interesting cartridge to work with? Lots of bullet choice in 7mm and I have lots of .303 br brass laying around.

It'd involve having a cu$tom barrel made. There are several .303 British wildcats(necked down to .22 and .25) listed on reloadbench.com/cartw.html. No W's.
Plus Steve at .303british.com has a book out that has a whole bunch of Wildcat/Improved Cartridge Specifications, 6.5/.303 and 7mm/.303, included.
A Yahoo search for '.303 British wildcat' turns up about 121,000 sites.

They have all been done, using the standard case or an "Improved " case.

I have a 30-303, or as it has now been named 308 Brit. An old 308 match with a 303 reamer.

I have often thought about a 6.5 brit, but don't have the reamer.

I have a 6.5-303 Epps. So far the loads look like the loads will be the near or the same as the 6.5-06 or 6.5-284 getting the same velocities. I order dies from Huntingtons in the US. Hope this helps.

You could try Elwood Epps - they used to have a range of 303 derivitives, or talk to Jim Allison at Cast Bullet Engineering - 303's are big in his market area.
Good luck. Grouch

well now there is someting I didn't know.

I've been thinking of trying something like this using an old mauser 6.5x55 barrel screwed on to a No4 action.

Bought the action from Harold Hargreaves at a show in Duncan early seventies with old military stock and found a custom P14 stock that I refinished and did up myself, rather heavy rifle, dies from RCBS You would find reamer's at Epps???

Corlanes in Dawson Creek has a .25-303 reamer. haven't tried Epps yet. see if I get around to sending it off this winter or not. to many other irons in the fire
