NEWBIE ALERT !!!

I have two .brit 303 rifles and only one magazine. It is not interchangable between the two (unfortunately). What info do I need and does anyone have another magazine for said rifle ???

Thanks

I think Marstar has Lee Enfield mags available and others will as well. You need to know which rifle you have, a No1, a No4 or a No5. The No1 has the rear sight mounted on the barrel, the No4 and No5 have the rear sight mounted on the rear of the action. The mags should interchange between a No4 and a No5, but the No1 is different.

It gets more complicated - aside from the two styles mentioned above, mags were tweaked for a given rifle. LE's were not meant to use mags interchangeably - they were loaded using the stripper clips. You may find that a mag fits, but doesnt feed shells.

Like Workin Man says, you have to know which one you need. No. 1 mags have two locking lugs on the back. Only one on a No.4 mag.
Marstar lists No.4 mags as being sold out and no No. 1 mags. Gunparts lists No. 1 mags at $31.45US. $41.95US for a No. 4 mag.
Look around at a gun show. You could try Western Gun Parts too. Local gun shops might have one or the other too. Epp's isn't listing either, but they may have one or two for either rifle.

If you know your model give Milarm in Edmonton a call. They have a box of Enfield magazines. Cost I believe was $50.00 each.
